The Dragon is coming fast! Whats your MINIs status?
... that I dropped into kitty litter and then scrubbed all over the surface of my MINI! I love swirls!

well, some were onion rings (those nasty Burger King ones...).
I find it effective in quickly removing that "new car smell" problem...

Mine's all back together. Test driven tonight and things checked out perfectly. Gonna drive to work tomorrow and give it one more once-over before packing it up tomorrow night to leave early in the morning Wednesday.
Well after the Paint, springs, rotors, pads, brake lines, wheels and tires. I have found out that Coop is soon in need of a flywheel and clutch. I sure hope he can make it through DRAGON WEEK!
I need an exhaust hanger....
Then I need to clay/wax the door with the big ding in it and and quarter panel, and do an interior surface clean. Then have Chad at DT install my brakes and goodies on saturday, bed in the brakes, and then I will be ready to actually drive the dragon and then go home. We have scheduling conflicts.

I have an intermittent "squeak" sound from the right front only... had it before the brake job and still have it after... happens at a particular point in the wheel rotation. Doesn't do it all the time, comes and goes, but when it does it, it does it at the same point in every wheel rev (walked beside the car...)... doesn't sound like a wheel bearing... maybe something stuck between the hub and the rotor shield? Hmmm.
Today we may try to take them apart and i'll see what the rotor is hitting and take a real close look. I'm feeling alot better today so I could work on it but we've got a busy schedule today so I don't know. With the exception of my car, the last things to do are wash/wax my friends car, oil her filter (forgot last night
), and load up.
Nothing left now but to fill her up ($49 worth at last count) and give her one last go around with the Griot's Speed Shine and Monster Fluffy. Oh... and gotta throw in a case of beer for the Swap and one suitcase.
Still have 44 hours to go. Not leaving 'til Thursday a.m.

BTW... love the new sig badge...

And I subscribe to the belief that most MINI drivers are at least a little queer.
(of course, that's using "queer" the way my mom used it 40 years ago...)
Mine's all set. The drive to work was enjoyable, since it was done in true 'test drive' fashion.
Tonight it gets all packed up, and on the road tomorrow morning.
I'm a big queer then, in so many ways.

Well, late for MOTD but at least I could go tomorrow if I wanted.
Took the car to the shop Tuesday to get the brakes fixed. Turns out the master cylinder was fine, even though half a dozen people told me it was shot from the symptoms I had. There was air in the lines that wouldn't come out with gravity bleeding that I was doing, and a slider was frozen. I don't know what a slider is, but at least it was cheap. I think the rear brakes still catch after you release the hand brake, but it goes away after a pump or two.
While it was there I got them to flush the coolant, remove the m7 brace (I think they puled really hard and it came off), and cut my resonator out and replace it with a section of pipe. All those loud minis at motd made me want mine louder. I still want more.
With the car back in the garage I jacked the rear up (AGAIN!) to fix the clunking sway bar. Have to settle for the soft setting until I can get some adjustable links. Not making noise anymore.
Then I put the interior back in! I modified the rear panel to get access to the flexible adjusters

Next it was clean up time. The back was filty!

Good enough for now till I can detail it. Then the seats went in and my harnesses were re-installed now that winter is over and I don't have to wear a huge coat!

Finally I got to mount the driving lights

Looking at the minis there gave me a good idea of were I wanted them, since I had 4 positions that I could pick.

This position let me keep my kicking rad and very expensive tow hook on! I'll try to take some outside shots tomorrow. Car is really dirty becuase of rain.
I'm going to see if I can work an alignment in tomorrow after work and then get something set up with the body shop to get the aero spoiler on and wire my lights.
I'm tired... but it's a good tired.
