Drivetrain Better SC?
Who said anything about stock or lightly modded? Re-read my posts. I think everyone would like to see what change the m7 blower brings about KEEPING ALL OTHER THINGS ON THE CAR THE SAME. That is MUCH, MUCH more useful than saying "we changed A, B, and C ... look how well C works!".

What can I say, if you like to find faults with us, and our products go ahead. But the bottom line is we did dyno the upgrade and it did give us
17whp. If you think that's a huge claim

The 16% pulley is a measly 1.3% change in gearing, let's give the gearing
3whp, the MTH map was a standard map, that will give you 4-5whp at the most, the rest is from the SC IE. 8-9whp I find that a very acceptable for $695.

As for not showing Dyno runs......this thread proves why, no one (some)
will ever believe you no matter what.
If you need more info please call me, as I am to busy to hang out on the forum, talking endlessly about something we already gone over.

Its just not good business.

Peace M7,
is a very good thing. There is nothing "bad" taken or intended.
OK, i think we need to clarify once more that we are not asking for speculation. We want some exact figures taken in a scientific way. That means you take a car which i don't care if it's modded or not. Run it on the dyno, put only a ported supercharger on the car. And redo the dyno on the same day in similar conditions as the 1st run. This is not hard stuff. Stop beating around the bush. You have a few people here that are seriously considering buying the product, but want to know what gains are to be had beyond speculation. That is it.

Also, Andy, dyno's cost money. Why would anyone who clearly isn't **** spend the money to satisfy unknown minorities [like you], if they would be satisfied?

You'd figure that the parties pushing a product, **** or not, would "pony" (pun intended) up the cash to satisfy anyone but the most naive of consumers.
When you introduce one variable at a time, then AND ONLY THEN do you have a true experiment.

The MCS has forged pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft. The MC does not. To supercharge the MC block would just be asking for trouble, IMHO

I'm pretty sure that the Cooper runs a 10.6:1 piston, and they are both 1.6L with the same bore and stroke. So swapping in some Cooper pistons would be a great increase in power. Now...I dont know if the MCS pistons are forged and the MC's aren't...something to think about though.
From the Tritec site I've found that the valve sizes are the same, and Im wondering if the blocks are interchangeable...that would just mean that you could swap blocks rather than having to get pins pressed out and avoid the entire disassembly of the block. They are both cast iron blocks..im going to call mini and find out about forged vs. unforged pistons....
Well...no word from my dealership. *shrug* "the guy who would know left for the day"
Anyone know whats forged or not forged in the MC, and MCS?

Now, if you mean to suggest that I am naive, you're completely wrong, man. I HAVE an M7 ported blower. I felt the difference in throttle response [it breathes MUCH nicer than my stock one did]. I am by no means naive.
Out of curiousity, why did your parents let you put a ported blower on your car, but not the AGS?

We're presumably all reasonable people (re intellect), but herein lies the rub - we're not all on a level playing field WRT disposable income. That is a significant determinant in my decision to buy hop-up parts for my cars. So hypothesis-driven science and hypothesis-driven consumerism don't hold up well to the same rigors.
More than one variable; this seems to be a recurring theme around here!
If I can see $700 leaving my bank account, I'd just like to see what I should expect to get for it. That's all. Not so tough to fathom, eh?

Jeez... and people think TEAMMIGHTYMINIZ are militant.
So much repetitive banter over a couple of horsepower. You'd think you guys were driving Mustang SVT Cobras or something. Y'know, like the Cobras I whupt at Streets of Willow with only an M7 AGS and B&B Exhaust.

If you like my car, just say it. IF you're jealous, own up. Anyways, you better start saving up those massive BIM-COM profits! Oh wait, my bad!

. Got anything more to say about this newest part that you've never even seen?

I still don't get it, you said that everything made it on except the AGS. Now you say you installed it but then removed it? Considering you are one of the most vocal AGS supporters, why haven't you posted any feedback of your experience with it on the car (presumably from the shop to your parent's house back to the shop)?
I don't have anything more to see about this newest part that I've never seen.
What does that mean? Is that a riddle ... or a limerick?

What does that mean? Is that a riddle ... or a limerick? The AGS sounded SWEET to me, with the trick heatshield. There was no vacuum leak. It was a great improvement over stock, especially down low. I was thrilled, but I met quite a bit of resistance. It bummed me out for days. But, I'll put it back on when I take over my bills. Is that enough rehashing? :impatient

PS: The other thing to remember is- the bigger the SC, the more parasitic loss. The stock blower already robs too much [%-wise] down low for my taste. I cannot imagine the lag with a SC for an engine twice ours' size. [I think that the 62 is for V6's around 4 litres, no?]
Good question. The larger blower would definitely deliver a larger volume of air per revolution and could reduce drive losses and charge air heating. IIRC, GM replaced the M62 with the M90 in the Regal/Grand Prix/etc and were able to keep power the same while doing away with the IC since their temps were lower.
Here's some dimensions comparing the MP45 and MP62

Looks like the body cross section is the same, just different length. Of course, you'd need to find an alternate way to circulate coolant.
