To the dirtbag...
Aaron, I knew your post was tongue-in-cheek, but still, having some rat bastard come into your space and make off with a rather expensive item completely sucks. You'd think that enthusiasts encountering your smiling face would never stoop to such crap, but I guess these days anything goes.
I had no idea you dealt with that much CC fraud. I know the Wal-Marts and Targets of the world deal with it everyday, and it drives up the costs for everyone.
If the culprit is ever found, rest assured that his MINI will have all it's plastic trim waxed to the point of it looking like dry white dog poop, the finish dry buffed with a dirty towel and swirl marks made so bad that they can be seen from space.

yes

Just kidding.
Outmotoring ... what makes you think it was a MINI owner? It could have been ... anybody?
I'm not perfect, but I can proudly say that I have NEVER shoplifted! Stealing is wrong and I'll leave it at that.
Jason
i got your back... I agree.
I guess a kid can be a "dirtbag" if this is something he has done before, but I'm not sure of that moniker if it was a one-time thing, or one of those spontaneous things kids do that gives parents gray hairs. Oh well...I guess we should find whoever did it and cut off his/her hands...right?

Seriously though, there were so few kids there (relative to adults), I think it's highly academic.
Note though that I never said "all kids are dirtbags", only that they "can be"... just like adults, there's plenty of good ones too.
My kid, at age seven took a pack of gum from the grocery store when I was checking out after I had told her she could not have it. We got home and later that night I found it. Asked here where it came from... .tears ensued, she confessed. We loaded up in the car, took the half eaten package of gum, went to the store, found the manager and confessed. She apologized and paid for the gum with her own money she had gotten for her birthday and then returned the uneaten portion. I am very thankful that the manager took it as seriously as I did and gave her a gentle but serious lecture on stealing. She never stole again and to this day will relate this horrifying and embarrasing story of her childhood to anyone who says their kid took something. She said it was a lesson she never forgot. That was the intention. If she kid had been a teen they would have been working their hind ender off to make restitution.
If it was a "kid" who did something spontaeous, there is a parent attached to that kid and that parent should make his kid fess up and take the punishment. No excuses for age in my book. It's never too young to learn right and wrong. Stealing is wrong. .

Please don't get me wrong. I understand what is being said. I just hope that, if a kid DID do this, and if his/her folks know what he/she did...that they will "do the correct thing" and reimburse Aaron. On the otherhand, if it WAS an adult, then he certainly deserves whatever ill luck comes his way...you know, the old "what goes around, comes around" thingy.

Oh wait... this person doesn't have a conscious do they.....
yes, because children should be taught to know better...stealing is stealing.

Sorry to hear a dirtbag stole from you Aaron.
I didn't think people from the MINI community would do that.
Maybe he's not a MINI owner, he may have been an outsider dirtbag.
For future reference here's a dirtbag spotting tip.....Like a common garden slug dirtbags leave slime trails behind them.
Man I hate thief's, oh & slugs too.

The individual that took the watch will eventually get what is coming to them. It may not be today or tomorrow....but it will catch up with them.

are you my Dad in disguise?! I did that exact same thing when I was 4, and it was the neighborhood drug store. My father marched my butt back down to the store, made me confess to the owner, humbled me with the disappointment I saw in his eyes, made me pay with change from my piggybank, took me back home and beat my butt (it was awhile ago, where a good spanking didn't end with the parent in jail).I learned. To this day, honesty is paramount in my world. If I receive an overage in change from a merchant - I give it back. If I receive an upgraded product from a vendor that I didn't pay for, I contact them and make it right. If one of those door "buzzers" at the grocery store goes off as I'm exiting, it elicits a "pee my pants in panic" response because I am soooo not guilty of anything but in my mind someone "thinks" I am for a brief moment.
A good life lesson for sure.
If it's a child that lifted the watch, I hope their parent(s) come forward and use it as a learning experience. It's not wasted time or effort.
If it's an adult, they are beyond help. Karma is a ***** however. Good luck evading the Karma Gods. They will find you!
Well, you may get some business from this thread--not a big fan of the watch that was stolen (although I'd consider it in Dark silver, but it looks like its only available in red or blue), but I checked out your site, and I do kind of dig the anytime watch. I have bday coming up in a few months; my wife has given up shopping for me and demands I give her suggestions, I'll probably put that at the top of my list, and ask her to order it from outmotoring (and better yet, I'll pay for it!)! Are there any better pictures of the one with the silver face?

True, but spontaneity happens, and kids often do not think thru their actions. That's why they are kids. Adults, on the otherhand, know exactly what they are doing...and why they are doing it.

I've been purchasing from OutMotoring since '03 and hate to see something like this happen to them. Though I highly doubt there is a business that is free from this kind of stuff. Sorry to hear that it happened to such a good company and very nice person.
Love it.
Seriously though, last year we got taken for about $3,500 by one person with multiple orders (to Australia) that all went through our super insane credit card filter. Billing address's matched, same ship to and bill to address (first filter). We did not think much of it especially after MULTIPLE emails from the customer before ordering, etc. and whammmmoooo 2 months later, we got a chargeback from Visa that 3 orders had been unauthorized...turns out the 'user' had all the right info and had the packages redirected once they hit Australia to his alternate address....the strange thing is we have never been scammed by someone in the states.....until now. Go figure.
