ICE iPhone 17 Pro Max Pairing Problem
iPhone 17 Pro Max Pairing Problem
I have a 2025 Mini Cooper S 4dr and I used to have my iPhone 14 Pro Max paired to my Mini. I purchased a new iPhone 17 Pro Max last week and I have been unable to pair it with my Mini. I've deleted the old phone and told my Mini to forget that device, but when I try to pair my new iPhone to the Mini it just won't take. I've talked to Apple Support and Mini Support and neither can come up with a solution. I suspect it may have something to do with the ios26 operating system. Has anyone else had a similar issue and if so how did you resolve it?
When you have tried, did the car see it, just not complete the pairing?
By any chance, is your new phone named the same as the old phone? I got my 17PM and transferred my data from my old phone to it, and it retains the previous name. Then I renamed the device, but it still shows in the Mini, under my profile, with the previous name. It may be unrelated, but If it's the same name as the 14PM, rename the phone and try re-pairing it.

iPhone Air successfully paired
I replaced my iPhone 16 Pro Max with an iPhone Air and did not have any pairing issues. Perhaps make sure that you’ve “forgotten“ the connection on both your phone and in your car.
I replaced my 14 Pro with the 17 Pro and had no issues deleting the 14 pro and connecting the 17 pro. Was a flawless transition. I'm in a 2025 Cooper JCW F66. I am also on IOS26.1.
