Roar pedal installed

Hi all.....

I ordered a Roar Pedal for my 2025 F66 Mini and installed it today.

The throttle controller came quickly and nicely packaged...

This consists of the controller, harness, instructions and a couple of cable ties and self-stick pads.

I bought the model that uses an app from Roar Pedal downloaded to my phone.
This controls the myriad of possible settings one can dial up after the installation is complete.

I was somewhat concerned about setting a check engine code if the ECU still had power when disconnecting the original harness plug.
I entertained the possibility of disconnecting the battery to drain power from the ECU, but decided not to.
Instead, I opened the driver's door, turned off the digital and heads up displays by pressing and holding the radio power **** for a few seconds.

Then I waited for about 20 minutes, leaving the driver side door open, and not opening any other door or the hatchback during that time... perfect.

Disconnecting the original throttle harness plug is a bit difficult, as it is somewhat hidden in a plastic protective surround behind the throttle.

There are 2 release lock clips, front and back, that need to be pushed at the same time while pulling the plug up and out. The photo above shows these.
Not too difficult and it came out quite easily.

The Roar Pedal harness plugs will only fit one way, with one end plugging into the throttle side plug and the other into the OEM harness plug.
Make sure these are installed correctly. You will hear a 'snap' when the plugs are seated.
The controller can be plugged into the harness at this time, or before installing the new harness.

Okay, time to test this.
Make sure the Roar Pedal controller and harness are out of the way of the throttle pedal, and start the car.
If everything is connected right, you will see a green light on the control box.

At this point, I used one of the provided self-stick adhesive pads and attached the small control box above the backside of the throttle pedal.

Perfect... it is out of the way and not easily seen unless one is looking for it.

Turn on your phone's Bluetooth, open the Roar Pedal app, select one of the modes to try and set the sensitivity.

Time for a drive...
Wow, night and day difference. The lag disappeared and the throttle is now as sensitive in all modes as driving in 'go kart' mode.

I currently have this set in Sport Plus Mode, sensitivity set in the middle.
I will play with it until I find the 'perfect' setting.

Woo Hoo!!!!

Enjoy those Minis....
