By the way, if you get a forecast here, please remember to come back and tell me how I did - either here or in a PM. This is like forecasting for cross-country flights that I do when on shore duty. (Shore duty???? What's that???)

I'll let you know how the Dallas-Nashville run goes!
You're right.... but ask the local HR MINI folks that show up (Like Aprilwhine and JimRay/Fuzzy) what my last year has been like schedule wise. (Your work is always in the same place.)
Then again, my cubicle:
A 10ftx6ft square on top the ship, 360 degrees of windows, a/c, a heater that can and has melted plastic, LAN drop, coffee maker, espresso machine, two TV's with sat tv, Playstation2 and electronic charts, a cigar humidor, off-ship local phone, and a sheepskin lined Captain's chair.... makes the longer trips tolerable.

Great, Navy weatherman... I was in the Navy for 6.5 years, I keep hearing "smooth sailing in the med today..." and we had 90knot winds and 30ft waves, took a 28 degree roll, and the ship's max roll is 27 degrees... Not fun, we narrowly escaped going down by the skill of our best helmsman.
Good to know we have you on the case!
Seriously, it was a freak storm
you guys do great work! We had a weatherman on the ship for 2 months doing tests in the carribean. Great guy, taught me a lot about reading weather information.

Rain should start at CIN, then continues all the way to Deal's Gap. Heaviest 30 miles either side of the KY/TN border on I-75.

Rain should start in/near Atlanta and go all the way to the Dragon. Chattanooga will be a break, but it will start back up on the north side of town.

Sorry, no go on the Dragon. I originally had reservations for the 2nd to the 8th, but the Navy chaged my plans, and when that fell through, it was too late for a place to stay (last week).
Ergo, I'll live through everyone else and do my part with the weather forecasts...
THE DEAL'S GAP FORECAST
For tonight:
Dry and cool with a low around 50. Nice way to kick it off...
Thursday:
Rain and rainshowers all day and most of the night. Looks to break up by sunrise on Friday. Highs in the 70's, lows near 50 again.
Friday:
Clouds will build all day and the rainshowers will be back around sunset (8pm local). Chance of thunder in there as well. Again, high near 70 and lows in the mid 50's.
Saturday:
Rain will end aroun 10am-ish. Dry until after sunset again. High near 70 yet again, lows at or near 50.
Sunday:
Dry until late Sunday night - most of the precip will be from the KY/TN border south to roughly I-20. Spotty showers south of there. Except for one blob of showers near Danville, VA, it will be dry Sunday north of Deal's Gap.
Have fun and stay safe,
Doug
