8 hours might get you to the NC border, but definitely not all the way to the Dragon... I just wanted to give you the heads up, count on at least 11 hours from the NYC area, and that's with a bare minimum of stops!

Keep in mind that's only a guess... I recommend you actually do the MapQuest or Google Maps thing to see what they estimate. It's 8 or 9 hours from the DC area, so I figured 11 or 12 from NYC (since it's at least 3 hours from NYC to DC).

no, no central phone #. Remember, cell phones don't work up there for the most part. The Rec center will be kinda info central.
If you registered, you'll get a bunch of info in your registration pack. If you didn't register, you'll just have to ask a lot of questions and rely on the kindness of strangers

I bet ya if you ask any MOTD question on channel 7, sub-channel 21 on your gmrs radio you'll get more answers than you can shake a stick at ! (now really sure what that means though, but it sounds like alot)

snooter, that's a good suggestion for folks: bring your FRS radios and set them to Ch. 7, sub-ch. 21 (7:21). When at Fontana Village, you can communicate that way. Motoring through the mountains, the reception goes in and out, though.

Quick question on the event buttons -- where do we pick them up if we ordered them or will they be in our registration bag (if ordered)?

Thanks!

Event buttons will be available for pick up during registration. We'll likely have them spread out on a table so you can pick yours up after getting your registration packages. Thanks!

To expand on Matt's comments, when we hand them out, none of the full registration bags will contain anything individual specific... they are all identical. That means the MOTD4 badges, the buttons and the T-shirts will all be handed out separately at the registration desk, but at the same time and as part of the same process.

Can someone tell me the address of the actual Dragon?

I will be staying off site at the San Ran and would like to know where we are all meeting Friday for the Dragon Parade?

Refer to the maps here:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/motd-maps

The parade will start from the base of the dam, due west and across the
river from the Fontana campground in the third map on that link.

Good question, I assume you're talking about Fontana Village? ... they have an 800 number - 800-249-2258. Probably worth calling them during the day to ask.
