My wife and I had to leave the event early last year because of a death in the family. Fontana without internet or cell service is not like the moon. You can still be contacted in case of emergencies. We left information on where we would be before we left so when the call came in, Fontana transfered the call to our cabin which did have a phone. All anyone has to do prior to the event is give information to those that may need to contact you in case of an emergency. Maybe check with Fontana to see if your cabin will have a phone. I wasn't aware that others did not have a phone until I read your reply.

 

Remember the agreement that if Fontana Village was sold out...they would provide wireless INTERNET.

As of the beginning of April wireless INTERNET will be available at Fontana Village.

Cell phone service will be provided as well on a rental basis - more details too follow. To avoid confusion - that means that *your* cell phone won't work but a rental cell phone will.

Fontana Village has undergone a major face lift. All the lodge rooms have been redone. Most of the rental cabins have been redone. I hesitate to include the timeshare cabins in that statement - I don't know.

The recreation center has also been refurbished as well.

I'm told "the changes are major - you won't recognize the place"
