Post 2005 Dragon Videos Here

I saw so many video cameras there but have not seen any footage yet.

Please Post them in this thread so we don't have to search for them posted randomly.

Here's mine.

Camera was handheld, not mounted, so I did not get any spirited driving footage. ~85MB Quicktime

A Trailer for the official NAM Dragon DVD will go up in a couple weeks if not sooner. In the mean time, I'll post some memorable clips and snippets, once i free up enough HD space on my editing machine (er computer that I use for browsing NAM).

I can't believe there aren't a bunch of videos up here! I thought there were 50+ camcorders there or something crazy like that?!

I think part of the problem is time and lack of energy. LOL. Atleast it is for me. It's a lot easier and faster to post images than it is video clips.

They are coming.

Yep, The only editing I did with mine was removal of dumb or bad content. (at one point I walk around with the camera on for 5 min pointing at the ground and peoples feet)

For as long as I've been shooting and editing video--some 15 years or so--I still have that problem as well.

I couldn't count the amount of the locals I caught looking at the car and talking because I kept forgetting to turn the camera off when I got out of the car.

Here is one running up the Dragon with no editing. Just a simple video with audio. It's 102mb and 14 minutes. http://www.magicmini.com/sb/videos/dragonrun.wmv

Octane, I was the one talking to you at the Dragon about the addition of an external microphone. You'll hear why if you watch the video. The sound of the air turbulance occasionally hitting the camera gets a little annoying.

Steve...some fun footage there! Thanks! What was up with that rear fog at the end. OKAY!? How annoying for anyone following that car.

Try wrapping the mic foam with some Saran Wrap or a baggie, pulled tight and secured with a rubber band. Old video geek trick. Not as good as a special wind mic, but much cheaper.

Octaneguy,

If I sent you a VHS with the film I got on my MiniDV, would you be able to use that?

I could, but I'd prefer to have the miniDV tape. I can clone it and return your original.

Great, octane, can't wait for the real thing! The shots of the bike in front & behind look cool.

Since you already make separate mac and pc versions I highly recommend you try quicktime7's new H264. I was very impressed at the better quality and/or smaller size it offered over mpeg2/4/etc. I recoded some of
my videos if you want an idea.

Thanks Jwardell,

I'll check it out. Eeek. I just upgraded to QT6 a little while ago. LOL. I diidn't know there was a QT7 already. LOL. The biggest encoding improvements I've had with QT is by buying the software and not using the QT plugins that come with video editing software cause the quality is always really low.

Okay. Can you e-mail me your address? minineo@neo.rr.com

Thanks! Oh, and dub out the sound, hehe. Jess and I talked a lot while filming, we prefer to not have our conversations publicized. Thanks!

I have to say, with all the video cameras that were mounted on and in cars at the Dragon, that the lack of videos posted here is incredible.

Come on people it's been almost a month and a half!

Steve

p.s. Richard you are excused.
