Sharing a cabin?

The only cabins available at the Fontana, are the 3 BR Magnolias for $165 a night. Is there anyone planning on going to the Dragon, that would like to split the cost of one of these cabins for a few nights? It is just me and my wife and 3 BRs is overkill. We plan on being there Thursday 5/5 and departing Sunday 5/8.

I actually reserved one of the small $60?? Cabins at Fontana Village last year, and I may not need it. I'm waiting to hear back from a friend that is thinking about going, and if he isn't, I'll be sharing with another person, and giving up this room.

Sorry it doesn't really help you, other than letting you know I may be letting this room go and wouldn't mind giving it up to you.

Well if you end up not needing the cabin, I would love to take it. Let me know when you know, and then we can make arrangements with Fontana to change the name on the reservation.

Thank you so much.

Seems that my buddy bailed on me, so I'm about 90% certain I will be giving it up. I just need to confirm a few more things, and I'll let you know. I HOPE I can transfer the reservation to you without going through any hoops. I know there was a $20 cancellation fee which I'd like to avoid if we can somehow just get you in to take it over.

Don't cancel the room; just call them and change the name on the reservation. Then you and the person you give the room to can work out the $60 fee. This will save you the cancel fee AND not let the room go up to the pool of waitlisted people (who would be in line ahead of any new caller)

Make sense?

Hugs,
PB

Sharing a cabin

We are also looking for a cabin. I would share a cabin or if someone cancels, I would like to take over a reservation. I know it is late and asking for alot, but I was on the fence. I am a new member and would like to take my virgin '05 down to the Dragon to get broken in (under 1000 miles; windshield still like new).

It looks like I am going to have to cancel my trip to the Dragon. I have rented a $60 cabin and would be happy to transfer the reservation to you.
PM me to discuss. thanks.

Anyone have a room or cabin to share?

Hi, I'm a newbie who just recently found out about the Dragon, and apparently accommodations are very hard to get now. Does anyone out there have a room or cabin at Fontana they would be willing to share with a mature female -- me ? If so please send me a personal message. Thanks!

Those of you looking for lodging, don't despair! While there is nothing left at Fontana there are other options...

Rumor has it that there may be some rooms available at Tapoco, however I'd be surprised if it was more than 5 to 10 tops.

Otherwise the Microtel in Robbinsville will have plenty of room. Dragon veterans will till you that while yes it's about a 20 minute drive from the Fontana to the Micortel, that drive is still a lot of fun.

Contact information for all of the local hotels in the area can be found here:

Looking for lodging?

Here is the link to the Microtel in Robbinsville:

http://www.microtelrobbinsville.com/

It has nice corporate rooms, offers a free continental breakfast, has phones and internet service, and in a few spots of its parking lot, your cells may actually work!

Share a cabin?

Mom, her standard (but never normal) schnauzer - McDuff, and I are coming up for our first MOTD.. and oh yeah, to celebrate Mother's Day.

We have a (non-smoking) cottage reserved at Fontana and would love to share it (split the cost) with a couple and/or a couple of singles!

For $117/night for the 5,6,7. It has a queen, two twins, and a pull-out.

Please email me at liz@perimetergo.org as I don't check this board often (enough).

Thanks, Liz Wattenberg & Joan Dillon & McDuff (aka Mac)

We've lived in St. Louis, Pittsburgh, California, DC, Africa.. and now Atlanta... maybe we already have met!
