Down with the judges, let the people rule!

And to all you who think Hot Chili is good , ya don't know about GOOD Chili. Good Chili is GOOD Chili, ,,,,,,,ask the people

Hot Chili, well it's just hot!,,, Three legged or Not,,,,,,, why I do believe that rhymes

And by the way PB, don't think I am going to have the same recipe from last year, after all You DID ask for and recieve a copy of Eye Of the Dragon Chili Recipe

and I do think you need some help, I will galdly rent you my stuffed pharting dragon
BTW did Yucca sign up yet?

I don't recall asking or receiving the "Eye of the Dragon" Chili recipe.

(and while it is rare --- make a note of this)

You are right--- chili that is hot just to be hot isn't as good as chili that is less hot with flavor.

However, my dear friend, I believe what Yucca (et al) are trying to tell you is --- your chili was not HOT either

Hugs,
PB

Yeah I think because you may have been tippin a few

(and while it is rare --- make a note of this)

You are right---
Yes, I know

Yes I know, that is the secret ingredient when you are trying to WIN THE PEOPLE"S CHOICE AWARD FOR BEST CHILI,,,not hot,not hot, not hot

That is my point, Oh was I right again? Hmnnn

I too can make hot all meat chili that tastes GOOD, but then the majority of the people don't like it as well as GOOOD CHILI

That's why Judges don't work(most of them can be bought for two beers or less anyway)

I say LET THE PEOPLE CHOOSE
( as he leaves the building )

This is a disturbingly disturbing thread in a most disturbing way. It disturbs my senses... yet piques my interests.

I have no bloody idea what I'm talking about. Don't mind me.

Alas, I must revel in the trash talking of the other contestants this year since I cannot participate. My work has mandated that I cannot take vacation during this year's Dragon . I must keep hidden my new and much improved Chili recipe until The Chili Cook-Off of 2006.

Here's a photo of 3 COMPLETELY intoxicated Chili Chefs from last year's cook-off (I'm the drunk on the far right):

And a close up shot of the great MiniZilli:

Here's another one of the Rules from the Chili Rule book

2. SHOW STANDARDS - Nudity and lewdness are banned from showmanship. Intentional use by any contestant will result in disqualification of that team.

Crap, had I known about that I coulda saved my $10

I think SMM might be willing to refund your $10, if you will PROMISE to keep your clothes ON!!!!

No one needs to see that!

(And to get this back on topic)

'Zila, you are proving my point again -- you think you'll win through "showmanship" and not by quality of chili. You can't win with crappy chili and a big three ring circus style show.

I, however, choose to take the higher road --- AWESOME chili and great showmanship!!! I'm the choice for the best of BOTH worlds.

Any other chili choice is merely 2nd best!!!

Hugs,
PB

I think you just want me to quit so you won't have any real competition,

speaking of which, have we scared them all off, seems there are already 8 contestants, but haven't heard any big talk from anyone but you and me??

Wassup with the rest of you, can't defend your weenie chili

and there's still openings for 12 more contestants Come on step up to the table you weeners!

( I did say that did'nt I,,,,bad, so bad)

Minzilla, by the looks of things you should change the name of your chili from "The Eye Of The Dragon Chili" the "Minzilla's Chili-Rection"!

So this is where the battle begins? Well well well. Your right about the best chili not neccesarily being the hotest (on the way in). Now on the way out is another matter! Be prepared judges. I will warm your tongue and soothe your tummy, but in an hour you'll be screaming "Mummy!"

Perhaps it is because of this that SMM should have a rule that judges must wait an hour before placing their votes.

Yeah, but ... Out Motoring is my "hobby gone wild" and I'm a product designer by day...strange huh?

But yes, it would be an expense for the business, and yes, I'm seriously thinking of going. It just sounds too good to pass up....both sets of parents live in Knoxville and my wife and I spent out honey moon just a few miles from the Dragon...8 years ago!!

Guess a little background should help as well. Just a little somethin to scare ya!
Born - Dallas, Texas 1963
Favorite foods growing up - Tex-Mex
First bout with Chili - age 4 (been chasing it down with beer ever since)
First Chili contest - age 11 (honorable mention for unusual preparation)
First Chili contest win - age 13 ( Mom and Dad could not attend due to gastrointestinal distress from taste testing!)
First Chili contest disqualification - age 17 (Use of illegal substance) They locked the police report after I turned 18!
Second Chili contest disqualification - age 23 (Use of illegal substance) I swear it was tarragon!
Texas State Chili Champion 1990 - Dispute follows as several judges become incoherent during the final tally. Award stays after no illegal substances show up in lab report. (My formula reigns!)

So am I the only one who's glad I'm not judging this?

Minibeast - Sound like there will be at least one other real (Texas) chili there so at least I have competition. If the judges aren't from Texas, do we have to tone it down so they are conscious by the end?

Minzilla - from Michigan??? I'm impressed that you know how to spell chili (vs chilly! ) I'll bring a set of hot sauces and we'll fix your dragon right up!

Looking forward to a great time!

No, from OHIIIYO,
and guess what we put beans in our chilly up here , that way you can sample and savor it on a regular basis after consumption, not like that stuff with all the illegal ingrediants that makes you want to butt scoot thru a 5 gallon tub of ice cream afterwards
