hmm, ok it's almost time for me to really start planning the exact times for the '05 Dragon Caravan. I have a good idea, and give me a few days before I post a rough estimate. With so many more people coming this year, I'll seriously have to reestimate the time needed per stop.

So far we have
*Michigan I-75 Exit 18, just south of I-275, just north of Monroe.
*Ohio I-75 Exit 135. This is where we pick up Minzila and friends, potty and fuel stop, McDonalds.
*Kentucky I-75 Southbound Rest Stop just south of the I-275 loop in Cincinnati. Pick up MININEO and friends, potty break.
*Kentucky I-75 Exit 109 "Man-O-War Blvd" This is Lunch! Also pick up the Lexington MINI Contingent. Fuel Stop.
*Knoxville, Tennessee. This gets tricky! I-75 to I-275 to I-40 West to Exit 386! Basically, we're exiting onto Hwy-129 South
*That's about it. We'll stop at the Shell Station for Fuel, alcohol and whatever just before we turn left to stay on Hwy-129, just a few miles north of The Dragon.

If anyone has stops that are needed, let me know! I'll post times based off this in a while.

My group will try our best to meet up at the kentucky rest stop on time. I usually try to schedule things early - as you know I'm always the first one there by like an hour, lol.

We would like to join group either at I 275 with Ohio group or at Man O' War with Lexington group and will know for sure closer to event.

we have 26 cars for sure leaving detroit! maybe even as high as 32!
and we will pick up 7 more cars on the way for the MINIvan down. that is 35 cars total that are for sures!

Out Motoring (Aaron Cornaby), Sean Svensen and Michael from Columbus will meet the crew in cincy...OR..is there a way to just speed onto an on ramp somewhere on the south side of Columbus on the 71 so we could enjoy more MINI road time?

You could prolly catch our crew on I-71. I expect we'll be in Columbus around 8-8:30 am.

 

....that's perfect. Lets do it. We can meet you at Stringtown exit which is the first exit once you get past/off the 270 on the 71. There is also another exit or two south of Stringtown that could work...one is 665 and the other is the 62 which has a BP to meet at...
Lets talk closer to the travel date....

Ok im registered, my plans are set, one way or another, I Will be going to the Dragon. Chances are high that I will be joinging you at 6:30 am as indicated (I-71 south rest stop, just below I-76 Interchange).

If things DONT work out for me to be in Ohio as I am planning, I will still be going, just starting out from Central PA.

So for now, PUT ME DOWN! I cant wait.... this is quite the college graduation trip that Im taking!

same here I graduate from Univeristy of Michigan just a few days before we leave for the Dragon.

 

Ugh... Its my final exams that might prevent me from being in Ohio! im working it out tho! hehe...

In fact, Im studying for an exam RIGHT NOW! Being on NAM while studying for a class that is FAR outside of your major is a highly effective learning technique! i will report my score to prove it, tomorrow afternoon...
