MITM Wednesday Drive up?

MITM Wednesday Drive up?
Last year, for MITM2, I organized a drive up on day 1 which was a Thursday. This included visits to some of our esteemed local vendors, a jaunt over the Western Dragon, cruise over the Continental Divide via Loveland Pass, Lunch in Breckenridge, and arrival at Copper mountain late afternoon. Not sure we can do the entire same thing this go around, but if anyone from the Denver area, or other areas, wants to drive up on Wednesday, I plan on getting to Copper around 5pm or so to get my room and get settled, then head to either Frisco or Breck for dinner. I would love some company. Last year, we had about 25 or 30 members drive up and about 60 or so join us for dinner in Frisco.
Anyway, if anyone is interested, post up here, and we can get some stuff organized for the trip up.
STARTING POINT
Meet at Detailers Paradise at 12 noon--
1745 South Broadway
Denver, CO 80210-4300

So the current route map looks like this ? Pin "E" is Tommyknocker's in Idaho Springs. Check it out. It comes out at 2 hours 36 minutes -- but hey, that's without the MINI factor!

Dandy Idea!
Our MITM3 Construction Crew will be there at 5 pm to begin the erection of 'Tent City III'. Feel free to bring a casual chair and watch the fun (it does not take long). Then, the Crew is free for the evening so there are even more for the dinner crowd.
Sounds like a plan.

I will be there setting up or at least I planned on it. JPS you still have me as crew/etc?
Could do part of the drive up and then bust out to get to the setup task early per the slave driver.

Great Don, you are a staple when it comes to that drive up. Not sure we will do what we did last year, but it would be nice to head up with a few folks and then make plans for a little dinner.

Don, you can do the full ride
then join us at the setup party. You should have time based on Jon's agenda. Not to worry. If you run late, we will save something for you to do. Maybe bring the 60 buckets of water from the creek...to hold the tents down.

I believe Jacob and myself will be driving up on Wednesday too. We also plan to be part of the set up crew. So let us know when and where and we'll be there.
Hopefully by that time we'll be a two mini family!!

Will do. I want to talk to Heather at Detailer's Paradise and find out what time they are leaving on Wednesday, maybe we can use their place as a starting point again, then a quick drive up over the western dragon, and then on to Copper arriving no later than 5pm. I would want to say....starting time around lunch time this year, then we can stop somewhere along the way for a quick snack, then head up the rest of the way along I-70 for a nice leisurely cruise into Copper. Still a bit out in the future, but I want to get people thinking about it and post up suggestions if they have any, or preferences for route. I don't want it to be too long, as we have a lot of driving events all weekend, but a nice scenic route would be fun.

OK.....Just had a little meeting at Detailers Paradise with Heather and Nick. We will use their shop as a starting point at 12 noon, then head up from there, hopefully stopping for a little snack on the way. I am open for suggestions of where you all want to eat.
Official plan thus far:
Meet at Detailers Paradise at 12 noon--
1745 South Broadway
Denver, CO 80210-4300
Drive out Evans to Santa Fe, then south to 285. Take 285 to 470, then 470 north to Morrison. Through Morrison, past Red Rocks, and to I-70. Get off I-70 at Evergreen exit. Proceed through Bergen Park to the Western Dragon, Route 103/Squaw Pass Road. Follow that back to I-70 near Idaho Springs and take I-70 on into Copper Mountain.
Eating anywhere along the way, maybe even in Morrison at a local joint or *****'s Wings or something like that might be fun. Let me know preferences for dining, etc.
And, special thanks to Heather and Nick at www.detailersparadise.com for allowing us to use them for our starting point and having an opportunity to stock up on detailing supplies for the event before everyone else

Unless your keen on going from Red Rocks to I-70, we could go on up into Evergreen and then hit Squaw Pass Rd from the south.
We could also stop in Idaho Springs for a bite at Tommy Knockers as a suggestion.

That route is totally fine, we did that last year, and it was very nice. It adds some considerable time, but that is fine with me....we will have a smaller group this year, so we will travel and stay together much more easily than last year
Tommy Knockers for lunch sounds AWESOME

Yeah, some times the traffic is a consideration. But it would be a Wednesday so most of the poor dumb slobs will be working. May even luck out on Squaw Pass and not get a gagillion bikies.

last year, Squaw pass was wide open for us, very few bikers, very little traffic. Even going from 285 to Evergreen was not too bad, we lost some people when we turned off on Turkey Creek I believe, but given about 30 minutes, and we were all back together.

Southern Route Group?
Anyone from around Colorado Springs going mid day Wednesday? I prefer going Hwy 24 to Hwy 9 into Breckenridge rather than I-25.
Should get away from work at Noon, don't mind meeting the Denver group somewhere (470 / W I-70) if no other "Southern Folks" can / want to journey West out of the Springs to start.

Mike, wish you could get off earlier and join us from Denver. We will for sure try to hook up with you on the way up, either that, or for dinner Wednesday night.

Out & Back
Hey, we can't attend MITM this year because of other commitments but I'd like to join the ride up on Wed as it was a blast last yr (even tho I was one of the turkeys who make a wrong turn on Turkey Creek). So put me down for the ride and I'll help wherever possible.
I'll probably drive back that eve or if someone has a crash pad that might work too!
PS -- Missed rides in June, cuz we were in Alaska. Great trip! Not many MINIs there.

Vince added to the list. It will be great having you along for the ride, and since you have been there before, I am counting on you to not get lost
