You have two choices for the shirt....

One is to order one in our site, as you note.

Two is to buy one from the MITM store when you arrive. We have already placed our order and we have limited overrun in each size. It is first come, first served and in the past, all of our swag sold out in a day.

Assuming you make it up Wednesday night or early Thursday, there would be some choices.

Not sure why you care. My advice would be to relax and await the count when it comes in due time.

Well, last year there were nearly 300 entrants I think, this year, as of about 6-7 weeks ago there were only 45 according to the organizers I had dinner with. I am just really hoping the numbers climbed, which I am sure they have from what I know of people that have decided to attend in the last 2 weeks. So, Yes, I do care. And yes, I am relaxed, just curious since registration was handled different this year and advertising was down. I have some friends coming in from all across the country, so I want the event to be big and entertaining....nothing wrong with that, or having a general curiosity about the numbers. No need to bag on someone for being curious....my advice to you, let people worry about what they want to worry about. CooperRS asked an honest question, he deserves an answer, no? Why do you care what we worry about? The question about numbers has been asked over and over in this thread, but ignored. It would just be nice to know, for those of us that do care. Between registration, dinner tickets, room and board, and fuel costs, this is an expensive weekend for some, and they would like to see a great turn out...it is a fair question for them to ask, as they are excited about the event, which is allowed. That is why I, and perhaps WE, care and want to know. Does that help?

I just would hate to see the event lose numbers due to different organization.

BTW, registration ends tomorrow I believe.

RELIEF FROM THE HEAT

Escaping from the obvious oppressiveAugust heat, this is a great event. Think about it--70 degrees-- Rocky Mountain twistees--300+ Mini enthusiasts abound and a brew or two--What a great get-away!! We are on our second tour of duty. MITM3, et al, are magicians coordinating this event. This is the best kept MINI rendezvous secret west of Oxford.

I totally agree. It hit 96 In Denver today and was only 70 up in Summit County. Lows are in the 44 degree range . That makes for some good sleeping with the windows open

Early MITM digits

The organizers and volunteers are all busy with final preparations, so please bear with us. As of early today, the last day of registration, a few registration and location stats (approx.) are provided for the curious. Not included below are any last minute online registrations and the late snail mail registrations. Here goes:
  • Driver Seat Registrations 127
  • Passenger Seat Registrations 98
Driver Seat Registration Home States:
  • Alabama 1
  • Arkansas 1
  • Arizona 13
  • California 11
  • Colorado 52
  • Florida 3
  • Iowa 4
  • Kansas 3
  • Kentucky 1
  • Minnesota 1
  • Missouri 5
  • North Carolina 1
  • Nebraska 2
  • New Mexico 2
  • Nevada 1
  • Oklahoma 4
  • South Carolina 1
  • Tennessee 1
  • Texas 5
  • Washington 2
  • Wisconsin 1
  • <unknown> 8 (registrations without addresses provided)
That's a pretty good showing, don't you agree? After you've arrived, be sure to thank your MITM volunteers, who are also MINI5280.org club members. They'll be wearing the cool "STAFF" IDs.

Rick

Thanks Rick, yes, that is a decent turn out. I also know there will be some daily drivers who are not registered that are just coming up to check things out.

Thanks for your time in putting the list together.

You're welcome. Yes, like any other nat'l event we encourage folks to register (helps us with catering and other service requirements and deposits), but we can't force the issue. We certainly welcome everyone, registered or not, MINI or not. Those who've registered, which makes it easier on us, tend to have the most fun.

That is so true. Some are just coming up for a day though, or even an afternoon due to the fact that they could not get the time off work. They just want to visit the event. I think it is great that the locals support it so much.

Everything but the dinners can be accomplished without registration. So no matter what you can see cars and vendors; hopefully Jonathan or Rick can chime in for the dinner. If the answer is no, someone at the event might have changed their mind and be selling theirs. Good luck.

I think it's a very nice showing, especially considering the price of gas and food, plus the overall state of the economy for a lot of people. Just the sight of that number of Minis in one place will be overwhelming I'm sure. Looking forward to meeting everyone and having a great time next week!

We are bringing 2 cars coming from OK... We are registered as vendors though, so we won't count as a drivers seat!

Cenk, Cenk, Cenk!

I can help you with the dinners. See me as soon as you get up here. We have paid Copper and Winter Park for what was RSVP's but we have a few for overrun. First come, first served and there are a very limited number of spots. Bring cash, that is the only way. We do not take charge cards at Copper.

Call me when you get there.

The other thing you missed with Registration is

the swag, tshirt, commemorative plate, and other goodies, including the bag with a nice blue MINI this year.

But the STORE is open on Thursday, with limited numbers of these items.

First come, first served.

It is impossible, we have found, to get an accurate car count

since many pp come up and never register. They may buy a 'passenger' dinner along with someone else's 'driver' dinner. That is fine, the registration helps offset the cost of the meals.

In the last few years we have many, many CO cars up for a day or two, without registering. It appears that we will have just about as many cars this year as last, which was right at 245.
