Not sure what's wrong with me, but Capt 611 is right, I should definitely be banned for being slightly critical someone.

Mods, please see to this immediately.

It's not that you're being critical. You're:

1) Very off topic in my thread, which is unappreciated.
2) Being very rude, and causing confrontation out of nowhere.

I've never seen your posts until now, and I'm not sure why you wanted to single me out. It's just in poor taste. Sorry.

Wow. This started out as a happy thread. How did we get to this?

I'm still trying to figure that out myself! Not sure what I did to him along the line...

Let it go and ignore it. Eventually it will go away. Most bullies do.

Right on. Kinda waiting for another person to pop in and say they also ordered one! I know of only one other who has put in an order on another JCW.

Bueller?

The mockup picture looks really good. What option did you get? Are there any unique interior options / trim?

Oh, good point! I never posted the options/specs. I also don't have a problem posting the price:

Base is $35,550 incl. $700 Destination, and I added $7,550 in options:

Absolute Black Metallic ($500)
Chili Roof & Mirrors
18" Twin Spoke Burnished
Championship Lounge Leather (Red) ($2,000)
Cold Weather Pkg ($750)
Premium Pkg 2 ($1,250)
Tech Pkg ($1,750)
Connected
Xenon w/ Adaptive & Black Housings ($700)
White Turns ($100)
Red Sport Stripes ($500)
Chili Interior
5-Seat w/ Flat Load Floor

Factory Tint added another $300 -- All in was $43,400.

I'm also going to add a roof stripe at the dealer for $200.

And then to answer the next question, here's the JCW Countryman brochure! Not sure if it had been posted anywhere around here yet. Took some doing to get one of these!

SWEET! Too rich for my blood, but WOW what a sweet ride that's gonna be. Ok, maybe a little jealous. Congrats

The scary part is how much higher you can actually take it! It's actually possible to spec one over $52,000.

If you don't mind me asking, what did the dealer end up giving for the trade in, just wondering how big of a hit i might expect later on, even though the All4 only has 600 miles right now lol

Congrats man...I was told by MA that someone here in Ft Myers has ordered one. I would like to but only having mine for 6 months, I would take a nice shot. Don't really want to do that.

We have one guy running around Ft Myers telling everyone he has a JCW. He has the badges but the only thing he has is the tune and the wheels. He tried telling me one day that it's a true JCW and I just laughed at him!!!

I wrestled with putting JCW badges on my current car (I actually ordered two) when it was at peak HP/TQ with everything... but it's just not right. Still have them sitting here.

It kind of spits on the true JCW brand (which really is its own beast) - I've learned over the years to enjoy what you have for what it is.

Also, you can normally spot it from a mile away. I always enjoy seeing people put the ///M logo on a normal BMW.

Brave man all the reviews I've read on the JCW haven't been terribly good.

Have to say that after reading that just now, it doesn't seem negative at all!

Remember that I'm going to be adding another ~80ft/lb once it's all said and done to the stock 221 (w/ OB) as it is. So that takes care of the "slow" factor.

The suspension may need to be tweaked, as well. But at the end of the day, it's still a capable AWD snow vehicle, whereas a Golf R and similar are not. I do feel sorry for anybody who goes with the 19" wheels, though!

After driving this one for 2 years, I kind of get a feeling of what I'm getting back into, and I'm going in eyes-wide-open.

Myself I'd go Golf R, rides better, handles better, faster and can be made much faster if you want to.

Absolutely! Problem is, like I wrote, is that it's a bad snow vehicle for our winters here. FWD vs AWD is a big one.

I looked at Subaru's STI before this, and I just wasn't excited by it like I am with these. I guess it's a Mini thing...

I have a JCW on order and it will be my first Mini. Cannot wait. It will look like this.

Theta...I look forward to seeing what mods are optimal for the JCW.

BEAUTIFUL, my friend! Really like the look of that.

Since we're going to be on the same N18 platform with a slight turbo difference, it will really be about the same mod-wise. A little different with tuning, and you'll need an FMIC for sure since it will undoubtedly ship with the tiny little one.

Golf R is AWD. It's really the only reason to get one over a GTI.

You're 100% right - I completely spaced on that. I think I spec'ed one at around $38k online.

Also priced out a 335i XDrive but it tipped the scales around $59,000.

I created that image using the UK configurator. When I use the USA configurator, it will not let me add black sport stripes with the red roof. That must be an error because it will let me add white stripes to white paint, which makes no sense.

Also, in the US, it seems like the side stripes are included, but they are not added to the image using the UK configurator. Who knows what will show up. :-)
