Auto-Dim Side Mirrors

My car is equipped with auto-dimming (auto-dip?) mirror option.
- 0430 Interior/outside mirror with auto dip
- 0431 Interior mirror with automatic-dip

My question is this: Is the passenger side mirror supposed to be auto-dimming? The interior rear view mirror will auto-dim, same with the drivers side. But the passenger side mirror is regular glass - it does not have the auto dim in the glass.

I know my car was in a passenger side accident before I purchased it. So, not sure if the side mirror was replaced with a regular mirror, or if its supposed to have the auto-dim in it.

Could someone in the know confirm for me?

Yep i bet because the factory autodim (electrochromic) glass on the outside is so expensive, they just swapped in an regular glass. Pull that on off and you should have a set of wire single wires, one for heating and one for autodim.

I know there are auto-dim side mirrors. What I can't figure out is if they came standard with the auto-dim package on the passenger side.

According to RealOEM.com that auto-dip right side mirror is that same part number as the non-auto-dip side mirror:

They should on both driver and passenger side with autodim, they should always match.

My US 2019 F60 S All4 only runs on the driver side. Passenger side doesn’t dim.

Your car has always been this way? This is what I thought as more research was made. I’m thinking BMW did this as some cost cutting activity….
