2020 Fog light protection film

Has anyone put some clear protection film on their fog lights? I was trying to get some added to my 2020 with the LEDs and the shop say that they're too curved and the film would never stay stuck.

Are they not glass like the ones on my 2018? Honest question: I'm wondering why you would want protective film on them anyway, even if they're polycarbonate?
