Brake replacement

If my brake sensor is triggered for my rear brakes and i get the brakes replaced at an independent shop instead of the dealer. Will the warning go away or do i need to do something special to reset/remove it?

They should be replacing the sensor (gets worn through wire and opens the sensing circuit) that goes in the pad area and all should be good. Brake job is easy to do yourself...

yes sensor replacement will be part of the job. Just curious if there is any coding/something similar to be done after to remove the warning/notification from the screen or does a new sensor do the trick.

as for doing myself…no garage, no tools, no experience, temps in the teens and 20s.

I'm pretty sure there is nothing special that needs to be done if the wear sensor is tripped (and its not something else additional). Ya, no tools, location, cold weather sucks to do anything in.
