F60 Countryman SE ALL4
Countryman SE ALL4
I purchased a 2019 Countryman in Feb 2022 with <24000 miles. It has about 30k miles right now. It has run well until just before Christmas when we noticed a whirring sound coming from the back of the vehicle when you pressed on the gas. Nothing alarming but enough to know it wasn't normal. Haven't driven it at all since then other than driving to the dealership for an appointment this morning.
Turns out the electric motor and transmission are bad and need to be replaced totally about $8k. Of course, the mini warranty is 50k miles or 3 years so just outside of that window. I think I am lucky in that I purchased an extended warrranty from the used car dealer ship I bought the car from.but this is a really serious failure to occur with only 30k miles.
Has anyone else seen this?
Hope everyone had a great Christmas holiday and wish everyone the best in the new year.
