Programming the Telematics Control Unit - 3G Sunset?

I scheduled an appointment for my car and the service rep stated there's a recall to program the cars telematics for the 3G Sunset.

Has anybody else had this done? I'm curious what it affects.

Yes, just had it done on my '19 F56 JCW yesterday. No idea what it impacts other than turning off the 3G functionality.

Had it done a week ago on my ‘23 F60. Nothing in particular that I’m aware of. Maybe the update disables the 3G capabilities of the built-in cellular connection?

Yes, I think that's all it did was disable 3G for the SOS button. I had it done and was concerned it would disable remote services, but my remote services are still working.
