Resonator delete

Has anyone done this to their F60? I may see what this does to the sound and possibly purchase some exhaust tips and save some money. I’m just curious on if this will deepen the sound a bit more or give a few more pops? I already get burbles.

turn off the fake noise. Then chop off the 2nd cat and resonator. I heard around $150.

instant burbs and farts. Sounds like a mini afterwards. No cels no drone.

Looks like I’m going to do a res delete and go with some new tips. Cheap experiment but I think having a straight pipe going to the muffler will help the sound.

You can also fix in an open position the flap on the passenger side tip...I don't know if new tips interfere with its operation...I think mine used to only open when in "Sport". My NM Eng cat-back doesn't use the flap, so, I disconnected the wiring, taped it up well to try and keep it dry, and tucked it up out of the way.

I just ordered a new Untamed Edition F60, and I was wondering why the exhaust seemed so quiet on the F60 S we test drove. So you can disable the flap the same way you can with BMW’s, it seems?

Yep. It's the same BMW system.

I tinkered with the OEM flap before I replaced the entire thing with the NM Engineering exhaust. One easy way: remove the flap drive motor, wire-tie the flap "OPEN" from the outside where the drive motor interacted with the flap, disconnect the flap motor from the wiring harness (put the motor somewhere you won't lose it in case you want to re-install it for some reason), tape the wiring up snugly, and tuck it up under the wheel well area out of the way of splashing from the roadway and secure it firmly. Flap stays open, no codes from removing the flap motor.
