I think I read somewhere that you have to disconnect the terminal in the trunk. All the videos I've searched only show you how to replace the battery. I don't want to replace/remove the battery. I just want to disconnect the negative terminal so I can do some work on the car and not short anything.

 

Its under the plastic cowl at the base of the windshield on the drivers side. There should be a plastic pane you can open to access it.
