Asking here since I have experience with exactly 1 Countryman and 1 Clubman but my perception was that the Countryman had less road and tire noise than the Clubman and both had little to no wind noise at the speeds I was going. Is the Countryman in fact more quiet? Does it have more sound deadening than the Clubman (it seems to be several hundred pounds heavier - is all that just from the extra glass and sheetmetal?)

No one buys a Mini expecting to have serene, luxury car interior noise levels but it's also true that less road and tire noise is preferable. What are your experiences? Thanks!
