Manual Transmission not available :(

Am I correct, that in the USA at least, there are NO Countryman S or JCW models available with a manual transmission?

We're on our 3rd Countryman S All4. Suffered through the first model year 2011 R60 (Smelly Clutch), enjoyed the 2014 R60 updates (mainly the improved clutch), and now LOVE our 2017 F60 manual transmission. Our lease is up at the end of February so I jumped on the configurator and was stunned to find no manual transmission options for S or JCW models. While I get that manual transmissions are quickly becoming obsolete, my wife and I really enjoy rowing the gears in the F60. So, I guess my options are buying the car off lease, looking elsewhere for a manual alternative (don't think one exists) or giving in and getting an auto. Ugh.

Anyone else missing the manual option?

2019 was the last model year of the AWD manual transmission for Mini. There should be a few new 2019s out there but likely not for long. I believe the Countryman was the last AWD CUV/SUV available with a manual in the US, so not a lot of other options which was one of the reasons I bought mine.

Same here! We just pulled the trigger on a 2018 All 4-S with a 6-speed, and the plan is to keep it as long as I possibly can! I will say that if you love your 2017, I'd just buy it. I searched for 6 months to find the 2018 with everything I was looking for. Happy hunting!

I picked up my 2019 S All4 back in May because I couldn't find a used 2017-18 manual trans car. Within 2 weeks of bringing the car home, I installed the cravenspeed short shifter and it made rowing the gears much better.

Soon after my purchase, I saw that the manual trans wouldn't be offered for 2020 in the Countryman and Clubman (iirc) :(. I'm glad I picked it up when I did.

yup.. main reason being w/JCW and new 300hp engine is that cost to build new manual woudl be way too much since the 8speed auto is from BMW thats been around for a while. i've only had auto MINIs and well the new one isn't so bad.. not the fastest off the line if not in launch control mode but the low-mid rpm torque is worth it and the 0-60 in 5secs.. but also biased, owns 2020 JCW.. hehe..
