Mini Extended Warranty Question

Hi everyone!

I'm super excited to be purchasing a fairly new 2018 Countryman with 10,500 miles from CarMax tomorrow night and I would love some advice from those of you who do find value in an extended warranty.

The car has the balance of the factory warranty, which will take me through 2 years (it's a 2018) and 50k miles (which we won't put on in two years)

My options seem to be:
1. Buy the Carmax warranty, which will cost $2589 for 5 years/100k miles + $300 ded. (essentially, three extra years after the factory one ends) about $860/year
2. Buy a Mini extended warranty at a yet unknown price (I'll be calling them today). I suppose I could get a warranty from Mini that only covers the years after the current warranty expires? (can anyone confirm this?)
3. Go with a Route 66 warranty (least favorable option as far as I can tell)

I have pretty much only owned Japanese cars, and while I'm very excited about this Mini, it has every electronic bell and whistle known to man (tech pkg., wired pkg, electric park brake for the manual, and on and on... AND... it will be my wife's car, so I'd like to get some type of extended warranty. Any help or advice here would be super appreciated.

Thanks!
