Auto Stop

We picked up the new 2020 JCW CTM on Monday...still getting used to the new features (wife's car), but in the 2017 R56 JCW, we could turn off the auto stop/start feature once and you didn't have to reset every time you got into the car...it appears this feature (start/stop) CANNOT be permanently set to off...am I missing something? How to I set the auto start/stop feature to "never come on again"...

You need to code it with something like BimmerCode app

My 2019 CMS All4 remembers the auto start/stop setting. I have mine set off and haven't touched it since I turned it off.

There is not a toggle switch next to the start switch that switches off -- and "remembers" -- the auto stop/start feature? My 2018 JCW has one.

Yeah...there is a toggle, I haven't driven the car, only Sig Other...so we will see tomorrow. Her 2017 JCW remembered, so...

Same. I was actually quite surprised at this.

But I think the bimmercode app and this device can do it. Plus you can do a bunch of other things. Turn off annoying start up warnings, make your mirrors fold every time you lock/arm the car, change your radio startup volume, reset codes, etc.

I used BimmerCode App to change my default to the off position. Now when I get in the car, the light comes on the toggle switch at start up (which is off) instead of having to switch it. You can code it to not come on in Green Mode also, but I didn't do that. I figured I wouldn't use green mode much and it wouldn't matter. If you do switch to green mode the toggle amber light goes out signifying start/stop is active, but if you switch back to normal the light comes back on turning it back off automatically without having to flip the toggle again, so that was good enough for me. I disabled the ASD fake exhaust sounds coming through the speakers and one other thing right below the Start/Stop function to Remember Last Settings. Pretty Easy. BimmerCode was 32 bucks, plus the OBD2 port scan tool.
I was hoping to remove the Top Speed Limiter, but didn't see that. Maybe expert mode? No idea if it is possible.

Thumbs up

i also disabled ASD and am quite pleased with it off. normal / mid mode is very quiet now. keeping on eye on if you can get the top speed limiter figured out, i'll check into too. have you tried playing videos from USB? i can't get it to work for the life of me. curious if it works on yours or not or if our JCWs have a different headunit than prev (prev could do this). usb drive must be fat32/extfat and files in mp4 format.

also would recommend the auto fold/unfold mirrors on unlock/lock. hehe. also did the seat heater temps too since they were cooking me alive on even level 1. also did the same thing w/auto-stop to have disabled and also set driving modes to remember last mode. will set sport as default once i'm past breakin. love me some coding!

I didn't code the USB video on in the BimmerCode App. I had NavTV in my Raptor and never used it. But, I believe you have to be connected to the USB in the armrest console and not the USB at the bottom of the center stack to make it work. Not positive though. Might try that if you were connecting to the other one.
