Has anyone bought the plug and play Bimmertech Amp? I have the HK stereo and it's pretty tame. I would like to hear from anyone who has made that step.

 

Do they offer a plug and play version for the F60?

Not yet last i checked.

And i'm also unclear if their products are much of an upgrade if you are starting with the HK system, which for a stock system is pretty decent.

 

I've listened online to the Alpha 1 system and it sure seems to have a lot clearer music, with significantly better bass response. According to Bimmer Tech, the amp is plug and play in the R60. I'm going to wait until Black Friday, to see if they offer any discounts. The HK system in my care, is really not all that good. I've had other vehicles with much better systems in them. I played in Jazz band in college and I have a pretty good ear.

Emailed with Bimmer Tech support, their amp is plug and play for replacing the HK amp in my countryman. However, they told me it won't be tuned for my car, there is a USB port and I can hook it up to my laptop, to tune the amp for my car.
