I've got a 2019 with nav. When I go into the navigation info screen it shows the current map version as well as the upcoming version below which suggests to me that the new version will be available for update over the air. Is this true? If so, how do you enable the update once available?

 

My 2019 F54 just pops up a message on the center display saying an update is available, and asks if I want to install. It's updated three or four times in the last two months.

 

Similarly, my 2019 F57 pops up a message on the screen and asks if I want to do the update now or later. Since taking delivery of the car in May 2018, I'd say there have been at least 5-6 map updates.

 

Does anyone know how this is done digitally? I have and iPhone and a MINI with CarPlay that have been paired.
