Wide Wheels, Wider Stance Anyone?

Hi Everyone!

I don't own a Mini Countryman but a 2018 BMW X2 (F39), which shares the same platform as the new Countryman.

I'm coming here hoping I can get some guidance on going wider wheel sizes as there isn't much activity on the X2 yet on the Bimmer forums.

My stock comes with 19x8 ET47, 225/45/19 all around.

I'm considering 275 wide tires and have measured clearance, and it will be a very tight fit. I'm wondering if any of the Countryman owners have gone with 275 wide tires in the back and could provide some input?

I know this is going to be a long shot but hopefully will have someone who loves the wider stance look

Thanks all!

TireRack shows a 245/35/20 as an optional size for the X2, so I'd assume they'd have test fit that option. I'd probably stick with the 19" wheel and go with a 245/40/19 square setup and reuse your current wheels, only downside is the diameter will be a little smaller than stock. Do you have a shop where you can do a test fit?

The issue with a 255/40/19 is that it will require an 8.5" wide wheel which won't work with the stock wheels, but if you're willing to replace them, that's probably as wide as I'd go.

Thanks for your response. I love the wide stance of these SAV/SUVs (BMW X6M, Porsche Cayman, MB GLE, etc) with the wider wheels and tires (I believe 305mm wide) and wanted to do something similar on the X2. Though I won't be able to get that exact look with the F39 X2 chassis, I thought I could get close using 275mm wide tires max.

I do plan on getting wider wheels to compensate the wider tires... Was thinking 19x9 275/49/19...

Any Countryman owners with 8.5"+ wide wheels?
