All correct. I had to flash and use BMW hmi. But I switch back and forth between minis and bmw. Full screen CarPlay is def worth it IMO. But it’s all preference. Since i have it almost full time in carplay you don’t even know that you’re using BMW hmi.
Not sure about the 6.5" availability, but there's an ongoing thread for fullscreen CarPlay in the 3rd Gen Navigation and Audio subforum for those with the 8.8# Evo units. I'm in the midst of programming my 2017 now. Ran into a few kinks during the flash (my fault), but I'm sorting them out with some help. Will follow up whether it worked out for me.
My Wifes new delivered 5 doors hatch has FULL SCREEN CARPLAY 😁 with perectly nice corners. I hope older cars can have a software upgrade. I am getting my new 2019 Countryman. I asked them to update the nav but i don’t know if i will get the full screen also. Fingers crossed.
My 2019 Countryman has been updated bu dealer with latest software but unfortunately no full screen CarPlay!
anyway there are a lot of people offering this as a possibility through usb or enet activation.
There is a but. I don’t like the full screen method which has no round corners. So my only question is if those usb tricks make it activate like the official on the Mini of my Wife’s 2020 hatch or like the one mentioned up with the bmw hmi which doesn’t use round corners but square which looks like an andoid windows kinda fake screen? Has nobody bought this and activated yet?
anyone know the code change to activate touch on a 6.5" no nav no touch NBT unit? I just got a new touch LCD and went with the unit to add carplay. Trying to keep it cheap so I can spend my money on bootmod3

2017 F60 btw.
Hi - a 2017 F60 with the 6.5” non-touchscreen would have an entrynav (as opposed to entrynav2) headunit. Unfortunately, the entrynav headunit cannot support a touchscreen. Entrynav2 headunits support touchscreens and, if you use the correct entrynav2 headunit, can support CarPlay by coding (as opposed to needing an additional device).
It’s typically possible to add CarPlay to a 2020 U.S. market Countryman. If you’re outside of the U.S., it’s still possible, but a little less certain.
I tried to pm you for your vin to check, but you don’t seem to be able to pm yet.
