Countryman iPod Use

Just today got a 2018 Countryman - plugged iPod in and screen indicated it was not supported
Was told by my Mini adviser that the old cable that I use in my 2016 Countryman would not work in the 2018 and did not think there was a way to make to work with a cable

Is there a cable?

Liked the idea of being able to see the song/artist etc on the head as it appears on the iPod

all that aside - love the car
This is our 7th Mini - first was a 1964 1275S -n most fun ever
Cooper- Clubman- Roadster - and now our third Countryman

I did not know you need a special cable. On my 2015 F55 I have the ipod plugged in using a plain old usb cable and it works just fine.
