That is one way to look at it. Wife moved from a Chrysler Pacifica minivan to the Mini. The Ram is mine and tows a 33' travel trailer to race tracks around the Eastern and Southern US.

@eric.stewart I’ll be getting the Thule wing bar evo. Just waiting for a sale to come at rei. I actually bought these off Amazon for my wife’s car. Cargo loc 52 inch. They work decently well for sporadic use

First person i have seen with these on another MINI.

 

How much do these wheels weigh?

Looking online, it says weight optimised...what the heck does that mean?

 

Might be forged barrels. MINI has done that on certain wheel now, it started with the R60 select JCW wheels. Ronal has the OEM contract on most of those wheels now. The patterns cannot be sold in aftermarket by Ronal.

 

I wish I'd had the foresight to weigh the wheels on their own - but I did go and weigh them as mounted/balanced compared to the winter set (what the car came with).

Here's the set the car came with - 225/50/18 Cinturato P7 Run Flat on MINI JCW Grip Spoke rims (style 815 in Black)
Weight: 54.1lbs


Here's the GP3 rims: 235/50/18 Michelin Pilot Sport 5 on MINI GP3 (style 590)

As far as the manufacturer, I believe they're made by SAI (here's a photo I took when the rims first arrived with the stampings visible):

 

Ok, thats the new vendor that makes the light weight M2 BMW gold wheels that look likes BBS. We had one here the other day and its was printed on the wheels Taiwan. They are forged barrels.

 

According to here: https://www.michelinman.com/auto/tir...-s?tyreSize=18. The tire is 27.4...so that's like a 19lb rim. Of course, that's the sport 4, but can't be too far off. Impressive.
