I'm watching it carefully every time I return home after driving. I agree that's it's a poor design
If it's relatively loose, I'd suggest taking it off yourself (before it goes flying off)! Right now, our passenger side is off (been off for over a month), but I was able to stick the driver's side back on and it's stayed on so far (but like you, I check it every once in a while).

But absolutely tell your Service guy! Even if they don't fall off and are just "loose"! Cause they need to know about this.

Mini called a week or two ago (for a customer survey) and I told them about it too... I love this car (for the most part), so anything like this is just good feedback they need to know (so hopefully they can fix sooner rather than later)...

Have an appointment in mid-November with MA and service check. Will definitely follow-up with them so they can see the issue. Will also relay the issues other members have had and I may even print out the photos to show them!

Has anyone thought of using a much stronger tape?

I am the kind of person that just wants something actually fixed - and then be done with it.

You can definitely try better tape or even glue (my service guy hinted at that option) to get them to stick back. The tape seems to stick to the window fine (mine is still stuck on there fine), but it doesn't want to stick very well to the trim piece itself. Most likely, due to the the tape not being thick enough to get a good seal.

My guess is that the tape is stuck to the window first and then the trim piece is placed on top, but if the tape isn't very good and/or sticky, and combined with maybe not getting enough of a surface to stick to, it just eventually falls off...

I wonder if some dealerships know about this problem and re-secure them if they're loose? Mine are pretty secure as well.

I have a 2018 Countryman. I’ve had the driver and passenger trim fall off the front doors — BUt, I have little clips that the plastic slides into. “Clips” may not be the right term. There are metal pieces that the plastic trim slides into. No double sided tape! Maybe Mini heard the customer reviews?

That would be nice!

I *finally* had mine replaced about a month ago, after telling them about this back in September (My Mini's Service department is awesome, but the Parts Department leaves something to be desired, they actually ordered the parts and sent them back twice!) and I am not sure how they attached them, but it would be super great if there was some sort of clips with that tape! I told everyone from Mini who would listen (including a couple of surveys I got)...

We had the L/F door trim fall off very early in car ownership. I think the dumbest thing about this design is that the 'wedge' design of the trim is going UP into its locking, mating part, and not DOWN into it where gravity would actually HELP versus what MINI gave us, Gravity and vibration are going to constantly work against this goofy trim, so if any of ours get loose again, I'm adding a few choice dabs of Windshield Sealant to hold the trim in place over just MINI's 'wedge' system that it uses.....

So far I don't have an issue, but I need to keep up on this.

seal ?

I have a piece of rubber seal on the drivers side rear door, that in the bend halfway up, it is pulling away from the frame, and catches in inside of the door every-time you close it.
I have been pushing it back in place, but it must be cut short or something, cause it pulls away from the frame later.
I need to look at it closely, it has been cold and I hadn't had a chance.

But I know spring is close, cause the Cardinals have already lost their minds and are fighting their reflection in everything ! Every year they look for a rear view mirror or piece of chrome for a chance to fight with themselves
Idiot birds. Its always a cardinal around here that does this. They can ruin paint very quickly.
have a good one !
