2012 mini cooper countryman, 80k miles, was backing up and the pedal was just as hard as a rock.
Fluid good, i dont see any lines off the booster pump.

My wife's Mazda CX-9 had an issue with the brake booster loosing vacuum, and it caused the pedal to go really stiff. Still had brakes, but without the vacuum assist you had to push WAY harder to stop the car.
Mini's are known for the vacuum pump for going out. Maybe start there?

Yep either that or that dang top line where it meet the pump is leaking or that nipple at the top broke.
