Shopping for an extended warranty - what and how much?

Warranty pricing can vary year to year on top of specific mileage but there has to be a ballpark that can be considered for those of us looking into buying anything from basic to Superman status extended coverage. If you would be so kind, can you share the details about your extended coverage for those of us in the market? Thanks!

Rather than paying an insurance company to provide warranty for your vehicle, why not simply start putting some $$ into a bank account on a monthly basis and deal with any future repairs on your own terms rather than terms dictated by the insurance company?

Thanks for answering but that’s not what my question is about though - after $X amount of repairs the warranty can pay for itself and cover repairs that would cost significantly more than the warranty itself, even after a deductible. That’s why people buy warranties. If I pay $2,500 for a warranty that will cover a $5000 repair, I’d rather pay $2500 + $X deductible than spend months / years saving up $5k while other problems could potentially be occurring

Hi! What did you end up doing/learning?
Would be interested in info on Mini ESC vs 3rd party, what’s not covered making one plan/company better than another, transferability on sale/trade of vehicle, cancellation/refund during contract, competitive pricing info
Amazing how little this is subject is discussed on this forum and elsewhere.

It seems insurance and warranty companies always find a way to NOT cover or pay. A good one are clauses that say abuse isn't covered and they use that as an out. You have to prove you didn't abuse somehow to cause, not the other way around.

had a Jeep Wrangler once - everything that could go wrong did go wrong and it was all covered under my extended warranty. Would have cost me a fortune w/o it. Never had an issue. Hoping for the same here

I would venture to say that these Mini's could be in the same arena where lots can go wrong... Insurance and Warranty's are designed to not lose money for the issuer and hence why there are so many to choose. Of course there are going to be good experiences and bad ones. I'm typically on the other end where it is a ton of work to get things covered or handled let alone denied as a result but they still go my $ up front.
