Low Oil Pressure Under Hard Driving

Hi Guys, for the past 500miles or so my sick puppy (2013 MC SALL4 - 88K) started warning of 'Low Oil Pressure/Engine can be damaged' when driving hard (more often in Sports Mode) and clears after I backoff from the throttle, oil levels are good on the stick (checked immediately after such errors), don't see this warning pop up otherwise.

No error codes after multiple scans, I got an oil/filter change done today (doing so every 4K since I have had the vehicle) and didn't see any metal/other residue in the filter nor in the oil discharge, I wasn't able to get the folks to do a oil pan dismount to check if any bits are obstructing oil flow.

Read forums here suggesting the oil sensor sitting on top of the filter to be replaced, what do you guys suggest I start with ? I have minimal tools for other large jobs like a pump replacement etc, Also I have a basic OBDII scanner (off amazon) Thanks !

Replacing that sensor sounds like a good start.

One thing that can happen is a piece of the plastic timing chain guide fractures and falls into the oil pan. It then blocks the pickup, which restricts the oil flow and causes the warning.

Have you done the timing chain?, any death rattle?
