Unhappy 2014 Mini CMS ALL4 No Engine Power

I have a 2014 Mini Countryman S ALL4 6-spd with 55k miles. Was looking to merge on the highway but was caught behind a bus so I was doing about 50 in 3rd gear. Went to punch the throttle to pass and the engine stuttered/bucked under the hard acceleration. Let off the throttle and continued to drive and got up to 70 in 6th. Was curious so punched it and got it up to 85 no problem. When getting off highway, slowed down to about 50 in 3rd again and punched it. More stuttering. Let the car sit for a few hours. After I got gas and filled it up. Took it on the highway with same scenario, 50mph in 3rd and hit the gas. Hard more stuttering/lurching and the CEL came on, Yellow Half Engine light on the tach and flashing on the speedo. Power feels like less than half and it does at all speeds now. I was in 4th at 55mph and hit the gas and barely anything. Went home and turned the car off for a bit. Restarted and CEL still on and flashing. I've seen some post about HPFP, coils, plugs, etc. Hoping it's any easy fix and gets fixed the first time. Dealer just replaced my thermostat under warranty as the cooling fans stayed on a high speeds when the car was off. Please share your thoughts and comments as to what this could be. Hopefully my extended warranty covers this.
