Vehicle Service light-2012 countryman s N18

Hi All,
an update from my last thread about about the timing chain and another question. So, the rattle still exists, now in addition to the rattle, I have been getting a yellow service light that only shows up when starting the engine. There is no check engine light, and car sounds normal other than the light rattle noise which I suspect is normal.
Car service History: around 51,000 miles, a full multi point inspection was completed. Battery change and fluid top off: 54,000 miles. Have around 55,500 right now.

Does the light literally say “service”, ie: the icon that looks like a vehicle lift with a MINi on it? If so, it just means the car believes you are due for a regular service.

Thats what it says, but the car was serviced 4,000 miles ago, and 7 months. It shouldn’t be due this soon.

The service reminder light has to be reset by the dealer or whoever serviced your vehicle.

UPDATE: I took the car to the shop, the service light was on because the brake fluids needed changed. Everything is okay, guess we’ll keep motoring on until the next maintenance pops up
