The stock white battery in my 2012 Countryman is dead.
I wanted to replace it with a red top optima AGM, but not sure if it will fit.


Any suggestions on the best replacement battery?
Does anyone know if the red top optima will fit? Or any other optima battery? I have had good experiences with this brand of battery.

You piqued my curiosity. Never heard of 'Red Top Optima' so I did a google search. The website asked for year, make and model. Then the 'search' button is clicked and the following was the disclaimer on the first line of the page.

"Unfortunately, there are dozens of different sizes of automotive batteries and we do not offer batteries that we consider to be "direct-fit" replacements for every vehicle, including your specific model."

Your best bet is to go to a supply store; Pep Boys, O'Reilieys or another of that ilk. They will identify the proper battery and replace it right there in the parking lot for you for the price of the battery then off you go.

 

The battery compartment on the countryamn is a little larger. Take the same battery as far as I know as the Hardtop R56.
