R60 Brakes What's Normal
I'm calling next nearest dealer, sending them photos and see what they have to say. Might be better to go with another dealer since Mini of Rochester would seem to be incapable of reason.
Thanks for the update glad the other dealership stepped in.

I like that idea, hadn't thought of that.
Or BAR, Bureau of Automotive Repair. Simply mentioning the BAR may get a stubborn dealer to sit straight up in their seat. Like... "would the BAR stand behind your statement that this is normal wear?"
Turns out that I have a friend of a friend hight up at Mini. Forward my photos and email response from Mini USA. Representative called and said that the photos made the rounds of executives at Mini and she had been assigned to resolve the matter. She too was puzzled that the car had been passed for NY State inspection with rotors in that condition and that with both extended service and extended warranty, why weren't the rotors and pads replaced.
Coincidently (likely not) I got a PM on my Facebook page from the dealership suggesting I contact the service manager about my brakes.

Service manager was likely trying to make his/her numbers, as in profits for the dealership. They don't realize that they can actually kill people with this type of nonsense. Somebody should put them out of business. My brakes have 39K on them and look pristine compared to your photos.
It sucks that it had to go up the ladder for this to get resolved. It seems MINI customer service is getting worse and not better. Also, only having typically one MINI dealer w/in 100+ miles is not good for customer service/satisfaction. I hate having only one choice. Luckily I have a friend that's one of their top mechanics at my dealer.
Glad to hear it, but sad it went that far. I'd still send a complaint to BBB and BAR on the basis that they were being jackasses...but after the brakes have been done
Also, the fact that Mini NA told the dealer to do brakes makes them look even more like a sub-standard shop...a dealer for that matter.

There is still a bit of an attitude from them. The service manager portrayed it as a one time exception per Minis authorization, like they are doing me a favor when in reality it's Mini USA telling them to take car of what they didn't do the first time.
There is a side of me that wants to give them what for on the way out the door but it might not play out well with regard to future service so I'll just keep it to myself knowing that they and I know you know!?
