R60 2014 Countryman SAll4 rear bumper removal
2014 Countryman SAll4 rear bumper removal
Hi there, my wife recently bought a 2014 Countryman SAll4. I want to install a rear camera. The camera I have is a license frame kit I was using in her prior car, and it plugs into a clip-on rear view mirror. Works very well.
I'm having trouble getting the wires into the back of the car, I need to remove the rear bumper to see what is back there. I've searched here and all over the web for instructions on removing the rear bumper.
Anyone have anything you can share?
Thanks

this post has the pdf for the jcw body kit, it doesn't say how to remove the bumper, but it shows how a jcw bumper gets mounted so maybe that will help.

Attached is a link to a detail part site where you enter your model and see specifics parts.
To remove bumper you need to knock out atleast two of the expanding rivets on the rear of the wheel well (two on each side) next to the bumper. Partially pull away trim where the two rivets were removed to reveal the bumper fasteners and start removing bumper. I would recommend picking up atleast four expanding rivets (see link for part numbers), as you can punch them out with an awl or a nail but sometimes it is hard to find the little black plastic pin that falls out (B) that will be needed to reinstall it later.
