Hey all,

Just a quick question,

My wife's base CM is going in for a 20k mile service but due to my not-so-good experience with the dealer previously, I want to find out what is going to be changed.

I know oil change is in route for sure,
wiper blades, car wash.. but anything else other than the very minor stuffs I've mentioned?

At 2 yrs from production date the Brake fluid is changed.

 

Is it a MINI dealer? (I know that might be an odd question, but my mini was serviced by a reseller dealer and they put in the wrong oil; didn't treat her properly)

 

cabin filter change once a yr....

 

Anyone has more lists? I'm soon to be at the 50000miles mark. I'm planning to go for an outside garage too. (Will be ordering genuine parts myself.) What's due for 50000miles ?

If you don't like or trust your dealer's service department, you have the option of going to a different one (assuming there is another one within a viable distance). Most, if not all, will welcome you with open arms as they get reimbursed by BMW for the work, plus they know there's a chance that you will go back to them for non warranty work later (which is far more profitable for them), and possibly acquire your next car from them.

Also, what do you mean by "20k mile service'? I assume you mean your car is telling you it's time for your second oil change? Your car does not have a set service schedule (see Condition Based Service in you warranty book), except for brake fluid, and the ventilation system filter (you are a long way from the scheduled time for spark plugs and oxygen sensor). Also, when they change your oil they are supossed to scan your car's computers for stored trouble codes, check to make sure all your warning and indicator lights are working, reset the Condition Based service display (so it knows your oil was changed, lube the tailgate hinges, and check your tires and rest the TPMS system.
