The MINI goes yuppie! Just my opinion but MINI has gone to the "market" on the latest models. But I guess that is progress.....make a fake "SUV" for soccer moms etc. The 1st and 2nd gen MINIs are the best (biased).

Have fun in yer new 2014. Keep us posted with your impressions with her....welcome to the MINIac Nation anyway!

Welcome to the MINiac Nation but a 4 door MINI? I can't get used to the idea of a 4 door MINI. For the soccer moms I guess. Have fun and MOTOR ON!

Looks good in black! However.......

This is an example of the reason I don't post pix of my R60 here-just too much ridicule out there. I don't give a hoot about what anyone thinks of what I drive-I just don't want to feed the attitude...reminds me of the Harley folks on their forums....the old timers just don't want to admit that the company should be a little progressive and open up the brand to include more buyers to guarantee the longevity of the brand.

I get the same type of comments about my V-Rod. "it's not a real Harley". "Harley has sold out and is trying to appeal to younger metric buyers and dilluting the brand".

What's interesting is if I sit in an MCS or in our CMJCW and look around, they are identical in virtually every way.

Tighten up the suspension on the CM and there is no mistaking that it handles like a Mini(albeit a slightly larger and heavier one)

I don't think Mini is making a "fake SUV" here at all, and I don't think it's for soccer moms either....there's no room for a soccer team in this car......there's barely room for a soccer ball.

All the fuss over adding two more doors to a Mini.......wow....

It's @$$hole comments like this that symbolize everything wrong here. How about just welcoming a new MINI owner to a group of like-minded people instead of an elitist attitude (rolls eyes).

People's opinions are just that, people's opinions. I wanted an R56 but it wasn't practical because I have two car seats for two kids. So the R60 is the way I went. I have no regrets! I've gone on MINI runs and even the Dragon and I handle the turns and twisties with no problems. Enjoy your R60.

sounds like it going too be fun! Im looking more into this mini connected and what things you can do with it that bmw dosent tell you about... like being able too stream video and audio off you iphone and have it display on the screen! Im looking into seeing if there is a way to have a digital guage for like boost oil temp and pressure and such instead of buying and installing guage... im sure its possible as for the driving excitement already taps into your ecu and displays some gauges such as coolant temp and hp and tq output and such!

If Mini didn't expand it's line and offer customers vehicles that fit their needs Mini would cease to exist. You can't please everyone in the Mini community which is why they now offer a fairly wide variety of models. I remember when Porsche announced the the 911 would no longer be air cooled. You would have thought the world would end from all the bitching. Guess what happened, Porsche 911 sales increased, the brand expanded and became one of the most profitable companies on the planet.

So there aren't enough other threads in these forums in which to crap on th new MINI's? You just had to come in here where somebody is sharing their excitement and enthusiasm over their new purchase to take a dump, not once, but twice? That's real class, there, fella. You can be sure that your insulting and condescending tone is not appreciated, nor is it rectified by the 'have fun' backside wipe.

No matter what you might guess, this isn't just for soccer moms and whatever stigma you may want to attach to it. My wife, for example, had a Clubman S, which she loved. We also had two dogs, which is why she got a Clubman in the first place instead of a hatch. No kids being lugged around any more to soccer practice or karate lessons or whatever else you seem to think it is that soccer moms do. When we got a third dog, the Clubby got a little cramped. She needed more room, and a few extra doors wouldn't hurt, but didn't want to give up the 'fun-ness' of a MINI. She's also a registered nurse who is frequently on call, so she wanted the confidence of all-wheel-drive for those winter nights that she gets called in before the snow-covered roads are plowed. For all this, the Countryman was the perfect solution.

Fake SUV? What the $#%^ is that even supposed to mean?

TO THE OP**************

are you in the US or somewhere else? I ask because I didn't know we could get that red door insert on US models, but I could be wrong. A very nice splash of bright color in the interior....!!

The CM is a very cool ride...

To Ed-I was afraid it was just me, so thanks...

What does "Coordinator:Asia" mean? I hope you aren't affiliated with NAM in some official capacity, because if you were you would be pretty poorly representing the forum ownership/leadership with that attitude.

to those that EVER say this or that is "not a real MINI". Let's just remember that MINI owners dont' own real "Mini's" either - and that was the HUGE fight and squabble when BMW re-introduced MINI to the world back in.. what was it.. 2003?

I bought my first MINI in '06 and I rembmer the forums all littered with how these new MINI's wren't "real Mini's" too... It's pretty silly but I understand.. the branding and characteristics are EXTREMELY important to MINI.

But unless you own a Mini, don't be hatin' on newer models. It's childish and hypocritial. Only Mini owners have the right to tell the rest of us we don't own "real Mini's" b/c they're actually BMW's.

But in the real.. it's pretty silly to say evolution and dvelopment and improvements make a product by the same branding "not the same". If we are to follow that.. NO CARS today are really their "old cars" .. Current Chevy's aren't "real Chevy's".. current HOndas and Toyotas aren't "real Hondas and Toyotas"...

It's all pretty useless and ridiculous to get worked up over.

I miss being in the MINI family and can't wait to come back when I submit my order in a few weeks (Countryman S All4/Manual....) Still deciding on color (thinking Cosmic Blue, but perhaps all black), and on options (MC? NAV?)...

mini connected is a must in my opinion. I live in Germany so i didnt get the nav because it has us maps and would be useless here... maybe ill get it installed when i hit the states if its possible... I got mine in black also and love it!
