R60 Alarm goes off when windows are down/cracked
Alarm goes off when windows are down/cracked
I cannot figure this one out...when my windows are down or cracked, if I lock my 2013 Countryman, the alarm will go off within 5 minutes. If I leave my windows up, the alarm does not go off. That means that I cannot crack my windows and lock my car at the same time.
Am I doing something wrong? Is anyone else having this issue?

Known issue since they updated the glass break sensors in the alarm modules in 2011+.
Mini will tell you to disable the glass break feature if you're going to leave the windows open. Also, they can place a piece of black foam in the alarm sensor grilles to make it less sensitive. I'll never buy the alarm again because I like to leave my sunroof cracked. It's been a royal PITA.

Motion sensing and glass breakage is the same (glass would fly inwards creating motion...) You can add tilt / angle sensing to the list.
The alarm would only go off if doors / boot is opened and the light still flashes.

When double clicking the lock button on the remote, the light on the tach blinks fast for a second, but then goes back to the standard pulse every three seconds. There seems to be no visual indicator if the motion sensor is disabled. I guess you have to trust it.
