Dsc / dtc

Lately I've been playing around with DSC / DTC in my ALL4 manual, and it seems that when I switch over to DTC, it seems as if it takes off from a stop a lot smoother, I'm not sure if it's a placebo or not, but I've tried it a few different times and it has felt smoother than with DSC on.

Is that normal, has anyone else noticed anything like that?

Could there be an issue? Mine is a 2011, so I'm concerned about the clutch, might just be imagining things because I am worried it might go out.

same here

the DSC seems to not allow any tire slip, it reduces power if any is detected

DTC will allow some tire slip before it intervenes and reduces power

if you are running all-season tires, you will have tire slip in snow so use DTC

i have studless ice and snow tires and either works fine for me unless i use full throttle, then DTC is the way to go

I definitely noticed it in snow, I should have been more specific, but I've been noticing it on dry pavement, it seems to stutter a little with DSC on.

When it snowed here, I turn everything off to do donuts.

I do notice a bit better throttle response with the first one off. I think the computer has less work to do, less to monitor so it has less lag time going from your foot to dumping more fuel. Also, the idea that there is no power reducting for stopping wheel slip.

After reading this thread yesterday, I turned on DTC every time I drove the car, and it did seem easier to get going from a stop. I'll have to try it some more and figure out if it really was easier or if I was imagining it.
