R60 2013 Countryman order
Mini of Annapolis. Their offer was a lot lower than the next next closest dealer but I can't tell you why. They also discounted some some smaller options after some negotiating. I learn a lot watching American Pickers!
well as long as you don't think you can drive up to canada and start a gold mine i think we're safe !
when i negotiated my final buyout i used bundling principals and got a great deal on the over all package.

i traded from a vw sportwagen tdi to the countryman. both the a3 tdi and the vw tdi are experiencing complete engine failures due to contamination from the fuel pumps. vw is blaming the user for purchasing bad diesel. result is a $10,000 repair NOT covered by warranty.
stay away from any vw tdi at this point. at least until the fuel pump issue is certified by the NHTSB.

Point of fact: fuel pump failure on TDI's contaminates the fuel system and stops the car from running but does not cause the engine to be wreaked. The fuel system does need to be replaced. It IS covered by warranty (5yr-60K) if there is no mis-fueling. So far we have 37K on our TDI with zero issues. I run only Chevron and Shell diesel fuel.
Now the stutter and jerkiness that the Sportwagon exhibits when the engine is cold - that's a whole other story...
Hi dpike! I've negotiated my price down $2300, but the dealer has really botched this sale (I've been waiting over FOUR MONTHS for my mini convertible and it still isn't here! Loooooooong story...) Anyway, I'm looking at a few dealer-installed options, can you explain how you employ "bundling principles?" I want to be prepared when I go in to negotiate!
Thanks so much!
Just ordered a 2013 CMS yesterday from a local dealer here in the SF Bay Area. $1250 off MSRP plus a couple items for the car that retail $450. I truly believe how much discount you get is related to the area in which you buy the car...
I got $2500 under MSRP in NY for a 2013 Countryman S All4. The more dealers the better in terms of negotiating. I did it all by phone and one dealer offered $3k less but had a high doc fee plus bad reviews in terms of post purchase assistance. It's all a lie about how minis dont get discounted or because a car is new. It just takes some time and effort to get a great price.

Congrats !! Who was your contact at Prestige ?
I ordered my 2013 JCW Countryman on 2/1 and Crevier gave me $750 off my build. They wouldn't budge anymore than that since it was a build car plus it's a JCW. I was about to leave then they finally gave me the $750 off.
I factory ordered a 2013 CM ALL-4 for my wife and was able to negotiate $2,150 off MSRP. I was pretty happy to get that good of a deal and still order the car the way she wanted it. I did have to work two dealers to get to that price, but the second one who I ultimately bought it from was willing to come down pretty fast.
I have bought 2 minis from Prestige our contact was Dan Veldhouse. He was really great . Picking up my countryman this weekend!
And they threw in accessories? Like what?
