R60 Cold Start issue
Cold Start issue
I have an R60 S ALL 4 Countryman(2012) and from day 1 its had a cold start issue. It currently has 17000 mi on it with zero other problems to date.
Specifically, a cold start at less than 40 F will produce 1 sec of the motor
running and then it stalls. A second press of the start button fires it up
and normal engine function occurs with no more stalls. I had the thermostat
replaced and there are no error codes. My dealer has not a clue. Above 40F
this does not occur.
Any ideas?
thanks

Sure sounds like the thermostat. How long ago was it replaced? There is supposedly a newer part number that could potentially fix it. I had mine replaced last winter, and I'm curious to see what happens when it gets cold here this year.
Had the same problem with my2012 all 4 at 8000 on it. Mine would stall in a cold start going into reverse. The dealer had it for 14 days not knowing what the issue was. And they did change the thermostat but after it continued to do it. After a few days it just didn't stall anymore so they had no choice but to give the car back to me.
Strangely, it hasn't done it since and now I have 15000 on it. Can't say they fixed the problem.
