R60 Paceman Pics Leaked Today
Over 200 official pictures now on motoring file, plus the MINI press release. One shocker: All 4 will not be available in the base Cooper, according to the press release, contradicting previous information that it would be available on all engine variants in this country.

Yup, but the reduced weight of the Paceman was supposed to allow for the ALL 4 with the base non-turbo engine on this side of the pond. I will be using this vehicle pretty much for winter driving only, and wanted the better fuel economy of the Cooper. I've got my R53 for 'spirited' driving...
just finished looking at the specs sheet for the pacman.....
i noticed the front brakes on the s are 307mm, up from 294mm on my cms all4, the backs are the same at 280mm
i wonder if a new caliper carrier and disc would fit on my cms all4 for a cheap brake upgrade ... have to wait for realoem.com to get updated

I went to my local mini dealership to place my $500 deposit on Friday morning. At the moment, the general manager can order a pre-spec'd starlight blue paceman. For the initial run, he is unable to modify the color or packages. It sucks that I have to wait.
I've had a deposit on one for a couple of months. Unfortunately, just about all of the launch cars will have automatic trannies. It doesn't make any sense to me that the dealers can't modify these cars since they will not be built for at least a couple of months. You would think MINI would have learned a lesson from when they ordered all the launch cars for the Northeast region without the cold weather package a few years ago.
I'm a huge MINI fan and owner. I love all MINI's.
But.....I think the feature I don't like about the Paceman is how the line of the vehicle angles "upward" as you are viewing it from the side. A typical MINI has a straight line. And, the Paceman's roof looks like it slants downward. A typical MINI doesn't have a slanted roof either.

I think its nice looking. But.. just a little too different. Maybe I just need to look at it more to get used to it.

In looking at the 200+ pics, love the look, just one concern: rear visibilty. With my Countryman, it's almost absent of any blind spots really-great view rearward, but in looking at some interior ics of the Paceman, the ones showing the very surprised about that as MINI is usually extremely safety conscious.....wondering if anyone else noticed the thick rear pillars......hmmmmm....might have to think more on trading over...

I just found this in case others missed it like I did:
First Drive: 2013 (1821hp
) Mini Paceman Cooper S All4 Prototype

and

Says a hotter John Cooper Works Paceman (218hp, 221ftlb torque) is in the pipeline...
JCW Paceman in 2015-2016 works for me!
