Sirius XM said dealer should replace my radio
I've been having a lot of interrupted service with my satellite radio, particularly in the past month. The first outage happened at the end of May, a few weeks after I got the car. The tech sent new signals several times before it worked again.
This past month, the radio has been stuck on either HITS1 (probably the worst station among the station lineup, in my opinion!) or PREVIEW. Sometimes the next day the problem would have worked itself out. However, this week it seems that no amount of requesting signal resets is working. Today I called and spoke to a representative. He sent several signals, and it still didn't work. He said that since I've had this problem that I should take the car to the dealer and have the radio replaced.
I have an appointment for Tuesday, and fortunately my dealer is within a 10-minute drive from my house ... and they'll give me a ride home. We shall see if indeed the radio gets replaced. I'll of course report back!

I've had this issue multiple times on my car. The dealer said there was dirt behind a button that was causing it to stick in one station. It was hard to believe but it had worked fine since then. My partner just bought a Mini convertible and his is doing the same thing. Apparrantly this is not uncommon. Good luck with your repair.
This hasn't happened to my Mini, but has happened occasionally on my aftermarket Pioneer unit in my other car. A reset always seems to work though. Could be your radio, but don't rule out XM themselves. On a side note, if you register your account online you can send the signal yourself without having to wait online for the XM morons (oh I mean experts).
