Is it true that I won't be able to negotiate the price of my CM as I live in Hawaii and I only have one mini dealer to go to?

I went to MINI inquiring about their costco discount, but the dealer says it doesn't apply to the countryman! They're offering no other discounts on the MINI countryman!

Will I be able to get anything off MSRP!?

You never know till you try. It seems that peoples experiences vary. Maybe if you aren't able to negotiate anything off the MSRP you can negotiate add ons and things of that nature. I was able to get over $1000 in options added.

 

Not sure which island you live on but keep in mind that you can ship a car from San Diego for probably $1100, so if you got enough off here it might be worth it. MINI of Escondido is a Costco program dealer. You are correct to point out the no competition negative about Hawaii though - on Maui we don't even have a MINI dealer, just BMW.

 

Mini of San Diego is also a Costco as well as USAA program participant for Cm (that's how I got mine), and I'm sure the half-dozen or so dealers in the LA area are as well.

 

That's strange because SD MINI told me they weren't a Costco dealer when I asked them about a month ago. I think they may have dropped out of it but I don't know for certain. Ironically, Escondido previously weren't and now they are. Go figure.
